President Obama will address the nation regarding the ongoing Syrian crisis and the reported use of chemical weapons by the Syrian regime against its own people resulting in hundreds of reported deaths. A live stream will be available starting at 1:15 p.m. ET, Saturday, August 31, 2013 directly from the White House and it can be viewed by clicking on this link (whitehouse.gov).

Obama will be talking about how to proceed now that a delegation of inspectors from the U.N. in the Netherlands is testing Syrian samples to see if in fact any chemical weapons were recently used, something that U.S. intelligence reports have suggested.

According to CNN, the Obama's remarks today will not be about imminent military operations.

The U.N. inspectors will be sharing their reports with U.N. General Secretary, Ban Ki Moon, who in return said he would present the findings to the U.N. Security Council after a final report is completed, the report continued.

Obama will be addressing Americans from the White House Rose Garden one day after John Kerry addressed the nation regarding the Syria situation as well.
