"The string of characters which can trigger the bug - which was discovered [on Aug. 28] and has spread around the hacking and coding community - has made its way to Twitter, where even looking at it in your timeline will crash the app," reported TechCrunch's Matthew Panzarino.

While the bug was detected in iOS 6 and OS X 10.8, the characters does not lead into a crash for OS X 10.9 Mavericks or iOS 7's beta releases.

A Russian website apparently made the discovery and noted Apple has known about the problem for about "six months" but not reacted. Since the bug is not detected in the upcoming iOS and OS X Mavericks, Apple might have fixed the problem.

Facebook has reportedly fixed the problem in their systems and does not allow the specific string of Arabic characters to be used on the social media website.

An error message on Facebook appears stating, "The message contains content that has been blocked on our security systems."

Apple, meanwhile, is gearing up to rollout iOS 7. The upcoming Apple mobile operating system is currently on its sixth beta version. By visiting Apple's Developer webpage, people can download iOS 7 beta, as long as the user has an iOS developer account, which costs $99 annually. A September launch date for iOS 7 is expected.
