Isabella Guzmán, a Hispanic teenager who was wanted by the Aurora, Denver police for allegedly murdering her mother on the night of Wednesday, August 28 was detained by local authorities, reported the Denver Westworld.

According to some reports, sometime around 10 p.m. on the night of Wednesday, Aurora agents received an alert about a family dispute in a house located on 2600 South Lima Street. When the officers arrived at the home, they found a woman gravely wounded by a bladed weapon.

The victim, whose name has not been revealed by the authorities, was identified as the mother of Isabella Guzmán. The incident prompted police to launch a search of the suspect, who was considered armed and dangerous.

On Thursday, Aurora police managed to detain the young suspect, according to the Chief of the Aurora Police Department Frank Fania. According to El Nuevo Herald, local agents arrived at the parking lot of an office building located three blocks from the house where the murder took place.

According to Fania, an anonymous tip alerted them to the presence of a suspicious car with a "body" inside it. Police didn't find anyone inside, but they did find objects that could be related to the homicide.

Shortly after, officers set up a perimeter and proceeded to look for 18-year-old Guzmán, who surrendered to the authorities without resistance.

Guzmán has been formally accused of the events that led to the death of the her's mother, the Denver Westworld reported. The identity of the victim and the conclusions of the investigation will be released once the forensic doctor finishes the autopsy, local authorities said.
