After the alleged chemical weapons attack on August 21 left hundreds dead in Syria, a touching video has surfaced. The nearly seven-minute long video shows that even in the middle of all that affliction, death and pain, there's still hope.

The video shows the moment when a young father is reunited with his child, after thinking his son was dead. At the beginning of the video, a man, possibly a family member, is filled with joy when he finds the young boy. Afterwards, the young father is seen reuniting after thinking he was dead.

The images are very powerful because of the emotions that can be seen in the video. In it, viewers can see the moment in which the father's face is lit up with joy and tears as he sees he son, who he thought was dead. The body language of the father and the child leaves no room for doubts of the authenticity of the moment, and the deep emotions that the encounter provokes, not only among family members, but in the other men in the scene.

The official amount of victims of the alleged chemical weapons attack is still vague. According to Médecins Sans Frontieres, the death of 355 people has been confirmed, Peruvian news agency Andina reported. However, the opposition has calculated that 1,300 people died in the attack, which has been called one of the worst attacks against civilians in recorded history.

Videos from Syria abound, showing the bloody effects of war in the country. However, the publishing of a videos that shows just one moment of joy in the midst of death and unrest that war brought to Syria, is a faithful statement that there is still a little comfort and hope for the civilian victims, who have faced the worst.

According to The Washing Post, the video, which possibly took place in the southwest area of Zamalka, was published on August 26 by Syrian activists and has garnered thousands of views.
