The success of the television show follows a typical format. If you doesn’t make a splash after its first season, more likely than not, you’re dead. If you do gain traction, it’s imperative that the second season gains a greater following and more devoted fans. They have to be interested in rewatching prior episodes on DVD and sharing its awesomeness with friends. From there, the show will likely take off for at least four or five seasons until it starts to dwindle down. It’s popularity begins to fall off, and as the writers reach for new subplots, characters and so on, fans slowly lose interest and invest their time in the newest, hottest series that’s ‘all the rave.’

“The Big Bang Theory,” however, defied all odds, and continued to climb the social television hierarchy as it entered its senior seasons. It’s now approaching Season 7, and fans can’t get enough. They’re left writhing in pain, desperately waiting for its return while digging up clues on what’s to come. Lucky for them, executive producer Steven Molaro recently shared a little piece of gossip that’s catching their attention.

“[Penny and Sheldon] share a couple intimate secrets about each other,” Molaro said when discussing the season premiere. “They have some really sweet scenes together.” With Leonard away, the pair will have plenty of time to bond throughout the season, which could stir some unsettling emotional complications once Leonard makes his triumphant return. Whether it’s plutonic or something more, they’re going to feel the strain on their blossoming relationship once the third party comes back into the picture.

What’s more, when Amy and Bernadette head to a work conference, even without Penny tagging along, men will continue to throw pick up lines their way. “It’s supposed to be Bernadette and Amy talking shop, but they end up talking boys,” Mayim Bialik, who plays Amy said to TV Guide.

Season 7 will be the season of trying relationships and love, with plenty of laughs along the way, of course. “The Big Bang Theory” returns to CBS on September 26.
