Microsoft has released patches for its Internet Explorer web browser for August.
The update for Internet Explorer was classified as "Critical" by Microsoft and requires a restart upon installing the patch.

The patch for Internet Explorer, known as Security Bulletin MS13-059, resolves 11 reported vulnerabilities that were reported privately to Microsoft.
"The most severe vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted webpage using Internet Explorer," said Microsoft in the MS13-059 bulletin. "An attacker who successfully exploited the most severe of these vulnerabilities could gain the same user rights as the current user. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than users who operate with administrative user rights."
The "Critical" label was issued for Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 9 and Internet Explorer 10 versions on Windows clients. The same Internet Explorer browser versions were categorized as "Moderate" if using a Windows server.
A "Critical" rating represents a "vulnerability whose exploitation could allow code execution without user interaction. These scenarios include self-propagating malware (e.g. network worms), or unavoidable common use scenarios where code execution occurs without warnings or prompts," according to the bulletin.
Microsoft has posted a video with an overview of the Internet Explorer patch as well as other updates issued for the Windows systems.
