The Microsoft and Google battle over YouTube continues for Windows Phone users.

In the latest development over the video-sharing app, Google had confirmed it blocked Microsoft's newest YouTube app for Windows Phone customers a few days after its release.

In a statement to The Verge, Google explained: "Microsoft has not made the browser upgrades necessary to enable a fully-featured YouTube experience, and has instead re-released a YouTube app that violates our Terms of Service."

The Google spokesperson added, "[The YouTube app] has been disabled. We value our broad developer community and therefore ask everyone to adhere to the same guidelines."

Microsoft in return issued a statement confirming Google's blocking of the updated YouTube app for Windows Phone users.

"We are working with them to resolve the issue," said a Microsoft spokesperson.

Meanwhile, Microsoft Corporate Vice President & Deputy General Counsel David Howard shared his view on the public disagreement with Google in a blog post.

"We think it's clear that Google just doesn't want Windows Phone users to have the same experience as Android and Apple users, and that their objections are nothing other than excuses," Howard stated. "Nonetheless, we are committed to giving our users the experience they deserve, and are happy to work with Google to solve any legitimate concerns they may have. In the meantime, we once again request that Google stop blocking our YouTube app."

As Latinos Post has been following, Microsoft published the updated video-sharing app for Windows Phone 7.5 and Windows Phone 8 users earlier this week after Google disagreed with components of an update the Redmond-based organization provided in May.
