The YouTube app has returned for Windows Phone users.

Microsoft published the video-sharing app for Windows Phone 7.5 and Windows Phone 8 users following a public disagreement over the app with YouTube's parent company, Google.

"We've released an updated YouTube app for Windows Phone that provides the great experience our consumers expect while addressing the concerns Google expressed in May, including the addition of ads," said a Microsoft spokesperson, via The Verge.

The Redmond-based organization added that it appreciated "Google's support in ensuring that Windows Phones customers have a quality YouTube experience and look forward to continuing the collaboration."

Key features in the new YouTube app include the ability to pin channels, videos, playlists, and search queries to the Start screen as Live Tiles. Windows Phone users can also manage playlists and video lists while having a unique My YouTube page.

The updated app allows users to share videos to social networks via email and text messages.

In addition, the YouTube app provides kids with age-appropriate videos in Kid's Corner.

As Latinos Post reported, Microsoft had launched a variation of the YouTube app in late July exclusively for Windows Phone 8 devices known as "YouTube Upload." The app has since been renamed as "Nokia Video Upload."

The variation of the YouTube app came after Google requested Windows Phone to remove the original YouTube app from its app store after a May 8 update allowed users to download videos and featured no advertisements.

"Unfortunately, by blocking advertising and allowing downloads of videos, your application cuts off a valuable ongoing revenue source for creators, and causes harm to the thriving content ecosystem on YouTube," wrote YouTube's Director of Global Platform Partnerships Francisco Varela to Windows Phone Apps and Store's General Manager Todd Brix in a letter May 15.

Google and Microsoft publicly announced they were in "contact" and were developing a new YouTube app.
