Former "Desperate Housewives" actress and entrepreneur Eva Longoria will executive produce an NBC comedy series based on the real-life sex and experiences of relationship therapist Laura Berman, the New York Post reported.

Yet to be titled, the sitcom will follow the therapist and her patients who are dealing with unusual fetishes, intimacy and love, Voxxi.com reported. The series will also navigate the therapist's relationships with her ex-husband, his new girlfriend and her own mother, while she takes care of her two young sons.

According to the NY Post, jokes will arise from the patients' doubts on a variety of intimate matters and how they consult a female sex therapist to help define their problems.

Laura Berman, who has a show on OWN called "In the Bedroom With Dr. Laura Berman" and is a regular guest on "The Dr. Oz Show," will be a consulting producer. Voxxi reported Universal TV and Longoria's own UnbeliEVAble Entartainment production company will be producing the comedy series. The multi-camera sitcom will be written by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont ("Made Of Honor").

Dr. Laura Berman, a renowned sex and relationship expert, is a New York Times best-selling author of several books on sexual health and pleasure. She also writes a weekly column for the Chicago Sun Times, Voxxi reported.

Berman is considered a thought leader and innovator in her field, who's been a therapist, researcher and sex educator for more than 20 years. According to Voxxi, she has helped countless couples improve their sex lives, build stronger relationships and achieve a heightened level of intimacy.

Longoria is considered to be one of the most influential people in Hollywood. She started her own production company, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, and in recent years, has taken to produce shows, rather than starring in them.

The 38-year-old Mexican-American star was criticized over what her detractors called a demeaning and stereotypical portrayal of Latino women on the series "Devious Maids." According to Voxxi, viewers said the series was "just offensive," while others tweeted "intrigue and funny at the same time!" and "loved, loved, good new show."

The star has also made sure to give back to her community through the Eva Longoria Foundation. "I'm curious by nature, I'm also energetic and ambitious. Ambition can provide more than talent and intelligence," said the Texas native during an interview with MujerHoy.com.

According to Just Jared, Longoria will participate alongside singers/cancer survivors Joan Sebastian and Alejandra Guzmán at the El Sueño de Esperanza Gala, on Tuesday, September 24.
