A new Uncharted game from Naughty Dog may have been confirmed from an unlikely source. In a report from Gamespot, actor Dominic Monaghan, star of Lost and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, spoke at a conference call promoting The Bureau: XCOM Declassified live action series. When asked about his passion about the video game industry, the actor referred to a new Uncharted game as something that he finds exciting:

"I'll always stay focused on the gaming world and see what's coming up...The new Uncharted I'm really excited to see how that's going to be and obviously both new gaming systems."

Naughty Dog has yet to confirm what, if any games, they are working on following the release of the critically acclaimed The Last of Us, which was released in June. The last Uncharted game was released in 2011, and the popular franchise would definitely be a boon to the PlayStation 4 if it is being planned for release in the PlayStation 4's launch window. Of course, until Naughty Dog discusses and confirms that this new Uncharted Game is being developed; readers should not consider this game as being confirmed.

If Naughty Dog is indeed planning to announce a new Uncharted game for the PlayStation 4, it will be interesting to see what setting the game will have. Naughty Dog could either make Uncharted 4 and continue the story seen in the original trilogy of games, or if they potentially make a prequel game showing more of the backstory of Nathan Drake and company.

Monaghan also discussed other games in his conference call. He claimed that he is planning out a game, which he hopes to pitch to publisher 2K sometime in the near future. The actor did not discuss what his game would involve. He also discussed the possibility of appear in a game as a voice actor, which he does not do for The Bureau: XCOM Declassified game. He seemed very enthusiastic about potentially starring in a video game rather than a movie or television show:

"Yeah, of course. It's like saying 'would you eat a whole pizza?' Yes, I would do that,"

We may find out if Monaghan is indeed right about a new Uncharted 3 game soon, as Sony will be at Gamescom later this month as well as Tokyo Game Show in September, and could reveal if a new Uncharted game is part of their next-gen plan.
