Although we're all guilty of hitting the snooze button one too many times, Al Roker's failure to wake up on time Tuesday morning was showcased on national TV for all the world to see.

For the first time in his 39 year career in broadcast television, the affable weatherman overslept and missed his 6 a.m. early morning show, "Wake Up With Al," on The Weather Channel, reports Fox News.

"After 39 years, it happened. I overslept and missed a show," tweeted the 58-year-old TV host.

However, Roker did make it to work on time for his second gig on NBC's "Today," where he posted a Vine video of himself yawning behind the scenes with the caption, "Morning, Sleepyhead. Overslept and missed #wuwa Here on time for TODAY."

He also poked fun at the mishap, joking that The Weather Channel should change the show's name to "Wake Up, Al!"

Matt Lauer said, "I tweeted out Rip Van Roker, and I'm getting a lot of tweets back saying a lot of people though it was RIP Al Roker. Read carefully!"

In response, McDonald's directed a funny message at Roker on Twitter, writing, "Stick with us @AlRoker, we'll help you wake up for the next 39 years #McCafe," along with a photo of their signature McCafe coffee.

Coincidently, "Today" show co-anchor Willie Geist also overslept on Monday. Who knows, Matt Lauer or Savannah Guthrie just might be next!
