Manager David Moyes will attempt to lead his club to victory when it takes on Cereza Osaka on Friday.

Manchester United's pre-season has not been as promising as expected. The team is coming off a 3-2 loss against Yokohoma Marinos, the second in three matches; the winner came three minutes from time.

"We had a chance to finish off the game at 2-1 and had a great chance to make it 3-1, and we thought we had chances after that as well but we didn't take them. So it was a tough game," said Moyes.

Moyes provided some reports on the status of Wayne Rooney who has been the subject of transfer rumors. The striker left the Asia tour with an injury.

"So far as I know, he is coming back, he is jogging," Moyes said. "We are not going to lose him."

Another player of greater concern is Robin Van Persie. The Dutchman came off at halftime during the match. Danny Welbeck also had some groin issues.

"Robin just felt his thigh in the first half and we didn't want to take any chances. Danny Welbeck felt his groin when he came on," Moyes revealed. "We've just got to make sure they're all OK, especially with so many games coming up. We've still got a few games before the season starts."

Prediction: Manchester pulls off a 2-1 win.
