New mother Kate Middleton stepped out of the hospital alongside her hubby Prince William Tuesday night to show off their newborn baby boy to an anxiously waiting world audience.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge posed for photographs with the royal baby in front of St. Mary's Hospital at approximately 7:00 p.m. local time. The newborn heir to the throne was born Monday, July 22 and has already become a celebrity in his own right. Crowds gathered to watch and take pictures of the debut of the young prince.

While Kate cradled the little one in her arms, Prince William spoke to the crowd about his new son, exclaiming "he's got a good pair of lungs on him, that's for sure!"

The doting husband went on to tell onlookers "he's got her looks, thankfully," and received a round of laughter in return.

The Duchess spoke up too, telling the crowd that she felt "very emotional" following her son's birth.

"It's such a special time," she said. "I think any parent will know what this feeling feels like."

As questions were launched at the new parents from left and right, Prince William admitted "it's the first time we have seen him really, so we are having a proper chance to catch up."

In response to a query about the baby's name, William told the crowd "we're still working on a name, so we'll have that as soon as we can."

Many of those who gathered in front of the hospital awaiting the birth and debut of the child who is third-in-line for the throne had been there for days, in some cases even weeks. However, anybody who's had a baby of their own knows the exhaustion that childbirth brings.

So after thanking the everyone who had gathered for the event, William wrapped up Q&A time, saying "I know how long you've all been standing here so hopefully the hospital and you guys can all go back to normal now and we can go and look after him."

The Duke and Duchess then went back into the private Lindo wing of the hospital where Kate gave birth and strapped the young prince into a car seat. They re-emerged from the hospital and new daddy William secured his first born into the back seat of their Range Rover SUV. The new family then reportedly drove off to return home to Kensington Palace to start their new family life.
