Best Buy has reduced the price of the MacBook Pro by Apple.

As part of the back-to-school season, according to AllThingsD, Best Buy cut the price of two MacBook Pro models by $200.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro with 500GB hard drive and 4GB of memory saw its price slashed from $1,199.99 to $999.99.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro with 750GB hard drive with 8GB of memory is currently $1,299.99 instead of $1,499.99.

To be eligible for the back-to-school deal, students have to register to Best Buy's Student Deals website and enter their ".edu" school email address can get an additional $100 off.

The deal comes a month after Latinos Post reported on a battery recall on the MacBook Pro. Last month, Best Buy recalled 5,100 third-party batteries to be returned to the retailer after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported 13 cases of the batteries catching fire.

The MacBook Pro batteries in question are both the black and white variants of the ATG lithium-ion battery sold between September 2008 and June 2012. The black battery at risk should have the model number "MC-MBOOK13B" while the white version will have "MC-BOOK13W."
