A boxing analyst believes former pound-for-pound champion Manny Pacquiao still has the capacity to dominate boxing again and achieve even greater feats than he had during his heydays.

Sweet Science writer Frank Lotierzo said he still doesn't count out the possibility of Pacquiao rising to the top of boxing simply because the Filipino champ's recent two losses happened in an odd way.

"Sure, he's 0-2 in his last two fights but a closer observation makes thing a little less clear. For starters, Pacquiao beat [Timothy] Bradley and should've had his hand raised when the fight was over," Lotierzo said in his commentary.

Lotierzo is pointing out Pacquiao's controversial split decision encounter with Tim Bradley in June of last Year. The welterweight match saw the Filipino champ dominating the undefeated American but still lost the fight in a shocking way.

Lotierzo also discussed Pacquiao's sixth round knockout loss at the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez last December, saying the Filipino was actually pummeling Marquez through the first five rounds before absorbing that powerful shot that dropped him to the canvass.

"During the rounds before he was stopped, Pacquiao manhandled Marquez more than he had in three previous fights. He looked so purposeful and sure of himself and appeared to perhaps finally solve Marquez's counter-punching / wait-and-react style."

"Fighters get hit and sometimes they get nailed with one they don't see and the last thing they see is the white flash and then they're out. That is what happened to Pacquiao the last time out against Juan Manuel Marquez. No fighter is bullet-proof," Lotierzo added.

Lotierzo thinks Pacquiao can still become a dominant figure in boxing despite coming off loss, comparing him to the likes of Lennox Lewis, Tommy Morrison and John Ruiz.

"Lennox Lewis was caught twice and knocked out by one punch, yet came back to score the biggest victories of his stellar career," Lotierzo said in his article. "Tommy Morrison and John Ruiz suffered two of the most devastating knockouts in boxing history to Ray Mercer and David Tua, and both came back and fought without trepidation for the remainder of their career."

The boxing analyst said he won't be surprised at all to see Pacman crushing Rios, if he stays sharp heading into their welterweight clash on November 23 at Venetian Macau.

"If Manny is sharp, Rios will be walking into punches all night... Because Rios will be presenting him with openings and opportunities as long as the fight lasts."
