It's been a while since vampire fans took a trip to Mystic Falls. The summer is too bright for those featured in "The Vampire Diaries." However, their characters don't necessarily boil over into their lives off the set. The actors of the hit vampire series are taking full advantage of their summer vacation. Not only are they exploring new opportunities to help their careers grow, but they're also searching for new love in a season that caters to just that.
Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon on the show, recently locked lips with model Ana Beatriz Barros. Somerhalder recently broke up with fellow vampire Nina Dobrev and is clearly wasting no time finding new love.
Unfortunately for those of you rooting for Somerhalder, sparks didn't necessarily fly between the two heartthrobs. The two were photographed kissing while filming an ad for Azzaro perfume in Lake Como, Italy on Wednesday. Dobrev meanwhile, is having plenty of fun on her own. A recent photo shows the "Vampire Diaries" star thoroughly enjoying the summer weather, sipping tropical drinks on the beach alongside her friend. Check out a series of photos from her vacation here.
Somerhalder, aside from posing with Brazilian models, is spending his vacation working on a full feature film. In "The Anomaly," Somerhalder will star alongside Alexis Knapp, Brian Cox and Luke Hemsworth in Noel Clarke's upcoming film. "The Anomaly" is a sci-fi thriller that follows a former soldier who awakens in the back of a van with a young kidnapped victim by this side. He soon realizes that he has only nine minutes and 37 seconds to get a handle on the tense situation at hand. It's unclear as to why the soldier has such an odd allotted time period to figure things out, but perhaps that's all part of hype.
This is all fine and dandy, but there's still no "Vampire Diaries" to keep us satisfied. As the summer months tick by, fans continue to countdown towards to return of their favorite vampire series.
