Details about the next Samsung flagship handset, the Galaxy Note 3, are beginning to trickle in, and as we get closer and closer to its inevitable launch, more reports are solidifying a clear picture as to what we can expect from the phablet. The latest report states that the Galaxy Note 3 will be announced at the IFA electronics conference in Germany and sport a 5.7-inch display.

News outlet The Korea Herald writes, "The world's No. 1 smartphone maker is also expected to reveal the 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 3 in September at the IFA 2013 event in Germany."

As with most of these kinds of reports, The Korea Herald cites the source of the information as unnamed "industry officials."

While reports like these should usually be taken with a grain of salt, it is practically set in stone that Samsung will be unveiling the phablet at IFA 2013. While not official, word has it that the South Korean electronics giant will be holding a Samsung Unpacked event on Sept. 4 to raise the curtains on the Galaxy Note 3. Samsung employed a similar strategy last year with the Galaxy Note 2, when the company held an Unpacked event just before IFA 2012 kicked off. IFA 2013 takes place in Berlin from Sept. 6-11.

The phablet should then begin hitting retail stores' shelves in time for the busy holiday shopping season.

As for the 5.7-inch display part, that's up in the air as reports have come out claiming a 6-inch screen as well. Other rumored specs include either an Exynos 5 Octa eight-core or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB RAM, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. Expect the latest versions of Android and Samsung's S Pen electronic stylus.
