NHL free agency gets underway Friday at 12 p.m. EST.

A number of major trades were already made throughout the week including Dallas' acquisition of three centers on Thursday. The team traded Loui Eriksson and three prospects to the Boston Bruins for Tyler Seguin, Rich Peverley and one other player. The team then traded for Shawn Horcoff of the Edmonton Oilers.

Hot free agent signings include Danny Briere heading to Montreal for two years. Former Tampa Bay captain Vincent Lecavalier signed with the Philadelphia Flyers after being bought out of his former contract.

Among the top free agents this summer is former Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov. The netminder was bought out by the Flyers for a poor performance during his first two seasons in Philadelphia.

Devils winger David Clarkson is also on the market after two solid offensive seasons in New Jersey.

The Rangers' Ryane Clowe presents another winger that can add toughness and scoring abilities in the lineup, however, he is prone to injury and could be signed to a short-term deal by other teams.

Boston Bruins winger Nathan Horton is arguably the most coveted free agent. The Stanley Cup winner is coming off a solid playoff performance with the Bruins. Despite the team's desire to resign, him, Horton has opted to test the market. If teams can overlook his concussion history, he could get a solid contract.

Jarome Iginla and Jaromir Jagr are two veteran forwards with a chance to make residence in a new city. Iginla was let go by the Penguins after a failed playoff run while Jagr is set to play for his fourth team in three years. He played for the Flyers in 2011-12 before signing with the Dallas Stars in 2012-13; the Stars then traded him to Boston for a chance at winning the Stanley Cup.
