They're getting closer. Fans can feel it in their bones. The film adaptation of "50 Shades of Grey" finally has its director and now an official casting decision must be around the corner. Fans remain wary, however. They've been disappointed time again and again as rumors spiral out of control. They know better than to get their hopes up too high, but this time around, things are different, right? Now that there's a director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, and a confirmed premiere date, August 1, 2014, the natural next step is casting.

Recent speculations suggested that the "50 Shades" team would announce who would fulfill the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia at this year's Comic-Con, however, E. L. James has since debunked the rumors. Typical. Fans aren't surprised, they simply numb the pain like they always do. So what do they do to ail their frustrated woes? They keep dreaming. "Dream big or go home," that's what Christian Grey would say. As the rumor wheel continues to turn, more and more names enter the casting arena. Among the typical fan favorites, such as Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder and Alexis Bledel, one name has been snagging headlines for the past couple weeks since the debut of "Man of Steel."

Henry Cavill, aka Superman, for Christian Grey. It has a nice ring to it. It fits like a glove. He's got the look, the talent and swag to play the role, so what's holding him back? Well, perhaps his new ball chain will have some reservations before he hops into bed alongside sweet Anastasia Steele.

That's right, Superman found his kryponite. Cavill and Kaley Cuoco from "Big Bang Theory." "They were both single and started dating recently," according to PEOPLE. Cavill has yet to comment on the relationship, especially with concerns to his new girlfriend, but it always complicates things. Even though Hollywood actors are professional and used to getting down on screen with co-stars other than their significant others, "50 Shades of Grey" is another story.

So what do you think? Is potentially losing Cavill worth narrowing down the Christian Grey market?
