Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 will end the epic trilogy that was started with the original Final Fantasy 13, and bring about closure to both the storyline and the world that players will have explored.

Square Enix has announced that anyone who pre-orders the game will get a special treat for sticking with Lightning and her pals throughout their adventures. The preorder DLC bonus for the game is a new outfit for Lightning that dresses her up as perhaps the most famous Final Fantasy hero of them all: Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy 7. IGN is the first to announce this news.

The game, which has been delayed until February 11, will have two pre-order bundles available to fans of the series. The first is the Cloud Strife outfit, called the Soldier 1ST Class outfit. This outfit includes Cloud's infamously huge Buster Sword and his Soldiers Band. As a special treat, the DLC also will include the ability to use Cloud's original victory animations and music whenever Lightning successfully completes a battle. Square Enix also hinted that some of Cloud's abilities could also make it into the game as well.

The other pre-order pack offered by Square Enix is the Lightning Samurai Set, which includes three different outfits with their own unique abilities; though what those are have yet to be determined. The DLC also comes with three special items: the Shogun, Sohei Saviour and Flower of Battle Items. What these items will do also remains a mystery at this point.

Many fans have been waiting for news that Final Fantasy 7 would get an HD remake at some point, and this news may be about as close as they will get for this generation of consoles. This could also entice some gamers to take a chance on Lightning Returns after the first two games in the series left fans somewhat disappointed.
