Instagram's latest video venture has already toppled Vine sharing on Twitter.

It has been a week since Facebook rolled out the addition of video recording on Instagram, and it has passed Vine considerably on Twitter.

According to Topsy's free analytical tool comparing Twitter users tweeting Instagram links to Vine links, the latter showed a drop of 40 percent in one day.

Topsy noted 2.5 million Vine links were shared on Twitter on June 19 but dived more than 1.5 million on the day Instagram video was announced.

The usage of Vine continued to drop this week with less than 900,000 links shared on Twitter, representing a 70 percent drop. In comparison to June 15, Vine links were shared three million times.
