The next-gen console war is shaping up to be a two horse race with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One facing off, and gamers are doing their due diligence to try and figure out which console to commit their hard-earned money and allegiance to when both consoles launch later this year. We look at some of the games for the consoles to help you decide which console is right for you.

Many blockbuster franchises are coming to both consoles. Assassin's Creed 4, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Destiny, Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts III and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain are just some of the game that will be appearing on both consoles. However, both consoles have managed to obtain exclusive titles that are sure to be big hits,

The PlayStation 4 has a trio of exclusive titles that are sure to draw in fans. Infamous: Second Son and Killzone: Shadow Fall seeks to continue the legacies of their franchises on the new console, and Knack looks to establish a brand-new franchise on the PlayStation 4. DC Universe Online will make a console appearance only on the PlayStation 4, as will Planetside 2.

The Xbox One will have a few big exclusive titles of its own when it comes out. One of the biggest is Dead Rising 3, which will once again feature a zombie-infested open world to play around in. Crimson Dragon, Fantasia: Music Evolved, and Ryse: Son of Rome are all new IP's that Microsoft hopes will boost the Xbox One and give it an edge over the PlayStation 4. Returning franchises with Xbox One exclusives include Forza 5, Killer Instinct and Minecraft. Of course, a new Halo game will be out next year for the system, but details are scarce at this point about the game.

While it is hard to gauge when these games will become available, as the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 only have vague release windows at this point, these early games will be out sooner rather than later for the systems, and could be the deciding factor for gamers in the early period of each console's life.
