Greece will look to keep pace with Bosnia and Herzegovina for the top spot in Group G of the World Cup 2014 Qualifiers when it takes on Lithuania on Friday.

The Greeks currently sit three points behind Bosnia and Herzegovina thanks to a 3-1 loss in the most recent match between the two sides. Greece currently boasts 10 points in five matches and a record of three wins, one draw, and one loss. The team started its campaign with 2-1 win over Latvia on September 7, 2012. Four days later, Greece took down Lithuania 2-0. A month later Greece drew 0-0 against Bosnia and Herzegovina but defeated Slovakia 1-0. The team then took on Bosnia and Herzegovina and lost 3-1 on March 22. The top team in the group books an automatic pass to the 2014 World Cup finals. The runner-up must take on another second place team in a two-legged playoff; the winner of the matchup winds up being one of the 32 finalists to challenge for the World Cup in Brazil next summer. Theofanis Gekas leads the team with two goals; four other players have scored once for Greece.

Lithuania sits in fourth place in the group with five points in five matches. Even though the odds are heavily against them, the team can still make a run at second place with a win over Greece. The squad opened its campaign with a 1-1 draw against Slovakia. After losing 2-0 against Greece, the Lithuanians answered with a 2-0 win over Liechtenstein. However a 3-0 loss to Bosnia and Herzegovina and a 1-1 draw against Slovakia has impeded them from making further progress.

Prediction: Greece defeats Lithuania 2-0.
