Bosnia and Herzegovina will look for a chance to increase its lead atop Group G in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers when it takes on lowly Latvia on Friday.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, nicknamed the Dragons, have 13 points in five qualifying matches. The team only has a three point lead on second place Greece, but has yet to lose a single game thus far. Bosnia and Herzegovina started the tournament with a resounding 8-1 win over Liechtenstein on September 7. Just four days later, the Dragons took down Latvia 4-1 on home field. A month later, the team lost its only points of the campaign in a 0-0 draw against second place Greece. On October 16, Bosnia and Herzegovina bounced back with a 3-0 victory against Lithuania and in its most recent match, the squad asserted its group dominance with a 3-1 win over Greece; the Greeks failed to score until the 93rd minute of play. Chelsea's Edin Dzeko leads the group in scoring with seven tallies; Vedad Ibisevic has five goals and Zvjezdan Misimovic has four tallies. Slovakia's Marek Sapara is the only other player in the entire group with at least three goals.

Latvia currently sits in fifth place in the group with five games to play. If it manages to win the rest of its matches, the Latvian squad can acquire 19 points. However, a defeat against Bosnia and Herzegovina would essentially eliminate the team from directly qualifying for the World Cup next summer.

Prediction: Bosnia and Herzegovina are the favorites in this game and should have little trouble dispatching Latvia. Look for Bosnia and Herzegovina to win 2-0.
