With WWE Payback on the horizon for June 16, the second to last WWE Friday Night Smackdown taped on June 4, which airs Friday before the Pay Per View in Chicago featured a stacked card from the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, N.Y.

The show opened with MizTV featuring Randy Orton, Kane and Daniel Bryan. An argument ensued between the three, leading to Kane storming off and Teddy Long coming out to book a tag match with Orton and Bryan taking on The Shield in the main event.

Curtis Axel continued his winning ways with a win over Chris Jericho, who was distracted when CM Punk's theme music began playing over the speakers, distracting Jericho and allowing Axel to pick up the win. Punk will meet Jericho one-on-one at Payback in a rematch from their last fight in Chicago in April last year at Extreme Rules.

Brodus Clay and Tensai did a segment together where they discussed the Wyatt family, which has yet to make their WWE debut. It could be the setup for the Wyatt family's first feud.

Kane and Ryback were involved in a segment backstage which led to Kane vs. Ryback later in the evening.

Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez brawled with 3MB. The segment led to Dolph Ziggler appearing on the titantron to announce the he would return on Raw next week, following his concussion that has kept him on the shelf for a month.

Kane defeated Ryback by disqualification thanks to Ryback putting the Big Red Machine through a table.

Sheamus and Damien Sandow were involved in another segment where the two played chess. However, the segment ended with Sandow laying out The Great White in the center of the ring as their rivalry continues to build.

Fandango defeated Zack Ryder, earning Fandango heat from the crowd for beating native Long Islander Ryder. Wade Barrett vs. The Miz vs. Fandango is announced for WWE Payback.

Kaitlyn's secret admirer was teased to be revealed on Raw this Monday night on Raw.

In the main event, Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan defeated Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns of The Shield after fellow Shield member Dean Ambrose interfered in the match. During the match, Bryan accidentally hit Orton, causing the Viper to nail Bryan with an RKO to end the taped show.

In the dark match, Team Hell No and Sheamus defeated The Shield via disqualification.
