"Mirror's Edge 2," the sequel to the beloved first person platforming title from 2008, has been listed on a few more websites, including the official EA help site. This seems to indicate that the long-rumored game could finally see the light of day sometime in the near future.

The page has since been removed, but a NeoGAF user was able to capture an image of the game being listed on the EA help website. This potential mistake by EA could very well be the tip of the hand that leads to some sort of official announcement for the game. Earlier in the week it was reported that two international version of Amazon also had the game listed for sale. Amazon Italy had the game coming to the Xbox One before the listing was removed and Amazon Germany had the game appearing on the Xbox 360 instead.

"Mirror's Edge" originally came out in 2008 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The game was hailed as an innovative mix of exciting parkour-style platforming and first person perspective. This made it feel like the player was executing all the variety of stunts in the game themselves. The game also received praise for its level of design and artwork, which featured a bleak cityscape peppered with brightly colored objects that could be used to get around the levels. A sequel was confirmed as in development by DICE after the first game was released, but low sales caused the game to fall to the back burner, where it was assumed to have been canceled.

EA and DICE could plan for "Mirror's Edge 2," if it exists, to be shown to audiences at E3, which runs from June 9 to June 11. If the game is indeed coming to the Xbox One, it could be a launch title for the system, where next-gen technology could bring a more open world experience to the series. We shall have to wait and see what comes from this news.
