Marvel Heroes, the upcoming free-to-play MMO action game starring all the favorites of the Marvel Comics universe, has delayed its early access program due to serious issues. This was revealed by Developer David Brevik in a blog post:

"We're in the process of getting ready to put the game live, but it's going slower than we hoped...Late last week, we found some serious issues that we felt we could not launch the game with. The entire Marvel Heroes team has been working for the last 96 hours straight to get the game ready. This process is nearly complete and ask for your patience. We always want to find these types of potential errors, so we're glad we had the opportunity to fix them in advance of launch. We will not leave this studio until you can play the game. We hope this will be in a matter of hours."

While the game does not officially launch until June 4, people who bought the Ultimate Pack in the Founders Program paid $199 for the privilege of playing the game seven days early, one day of which has been taken away. In addition to the week-long early access, players who bought the Ultimate Pack get 20 heroes and many new costumes.

But there is good news as IGN is reporting that the game's servers are now online for those with the Ultimate Pack, so they can finally get their hands on Marvel Heroes. Some sort of compensation for the delay is also in the works, though it is unknown at this time what will be barter for the goodwill of those angered by the delay.

It will be interesting to see if these issues, whatever they were, resurface as more early access players gain access to the game or if Gazillion was able to take care of the problem completely.
