Oklahoma City Thunder Kevin Durant loves his ink, and a giant tattoo on his back that he recently finished with religious icons is a testament to that.

Durant, a three-time NBA scoring champion, posted a picture on Instagram of his recent tattoo, a giant design with a picture of Jesus Christ and a biblical passage from James 1:2-4 on his back.

"Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way," the passage reads.

However, the initial picture of the tattoo somewhat distorted the word "mature" on Durant's latest piece of body work, making it appear that the tattoo artist had misspelled the name on the tattoo-which would have been an embarrassing and costly error on the NBA All-Star forward's back.

However, Durant assured his fans after he read the chatter on his allegedly misspelled tattoo, that there were no misspellings and his ink was exactly how it was supposed to look like.

"I got mature spelled the right way lol," Durant posted on Instagram, accompanied by a zoomed-in picture of the word in question on his back, which, indeed, was correctly spelled.

has been through some highs and lows recently, his team being eliminated from the playoffs and his city having been ravaged by a tornado earlier this week.

Durant has donated $1 million to the Red Cross for the victims of the deadly tornado that ravaged Oklahoma City, leaving dozens dead and millions in untold property damage left in the wake of the tornado.

"As the day went on and I saw the footage and the casualties and the houses being blown away, it was tough to see," said Durant, who was in Minneapolis at the time, according to ESPN. "I call Oklahoma City my home. I go through Moore all the time. It's unfortunate. We're going to come together as a city like we always do and we're going to bounce back."
