Cristiano Ronaldo will likely leave Real Madrid at some point in the near future says former Real Madrid president Calderon.

According to Talk Sport, Calderon, who brought Ronaldo to Real Madrid back in 2009 claims that Ronaldo's behavior and poor relationship with current Madrid president Florentino Perez will likely end this summer.

"Cristiano Ronaldo said he was sad at the beginning of the season. I think the relationship with the current president is not a good one, maybe because the president doesn't like the players he inherited," said Calderon.

"Ronaldo wanted to breach his contract. The truth is he didn't want to extend his contract and it's only got two years left [to run]. In the last few years it's a rule that you have to extend the contract or sell. If not, then the player is worth nothing."

Calderon also noted that Ronaldo is extremely expensive and it is unlikely that many teams will be able to afford him.

"There are not many teams that could afford to pay him what he deserves and who can pay Real Madrid what they are asking for," he stated.

"There are three clubs - Manchester City, PSG and Chelsea. I don't think any other club is going to pay that amount of money for a player."

A recent report by Caught Offside posited that "the [Paris Saint-Germain] are ready to meet the £100m price-tag placed on the 28 year old Portuguese international and will offer personal terms that are sure to get Ronaldo's attention. The big spending Ligue 1 title holders are ready to hand the former Man United man a deal worth £15m a year AFTER tax, a huge increase on his current salary, an offer that may well be considered by the La Liga star."

The move to Chelsea is also an interesting one, as it would likely reunite Ronaldo with outgoing Madrid coach Jose Mourinho. Manchester City has not been linked with Ronaldo in transfer rumors. He has, however, been rumored to desire a return to Manchester United where he played from 2003 to 2009.
