The laptop tracking and retrieval service Lo-Jack is coming to the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Lo-Jack started off finding stolen cars, and now it is beginning a mobile service, likely sometime this summer. The Galaxy S4 is the only Android phone that will be eligible at launch.

The Lo-Jack service isn't an app; it's essentially an update to the firmware that prevents access to the phone once it's reported stolen. It can also track the location of a stolen phone, and remotely access and delete compromising or private data. Lo-Jack has an in-house team of security consultants who liaise with law enforcement once the device has been located.

The laptop service starts at $39.99 per year, but the smartphone service might be a bit cheaper when it launches.

In addition, rumors are circulating that Samsung is working on fingerprint identification tech, which may be available in later versions of the Galaxy S4 though software updates or on upcoming Samsung devices.

"Inside the leaked firmware of the Galaxy S3 Samsung forgot to remove some tested application files. Our tipper ripped out the Galaxy S3 firmware and found this information within the SecSettings.apk. SecSettings\res\drawable-hdpi," SamMobile writes.

Apple is reportedly working on the feature as well, so we'll see who offers it first.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 1.6GHz eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor (depending on country), 2GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1920x1080 Full HD AMOLED display at 441 ppi, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, internal storage between 16 and 64GB, an SD card slot that can accommodate an additional 64GB, a polycarbonate body, Smart Pause and floating touch tech and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
