A new update is available for the Sprint HTC One that fixes those persistent key sensitivity problems some users have been complaining about.
This updates the HTC One software to version 1.29.651.10, and includes "BlinkFeed improvements" and a new client for SprintZone in addition to the sensitivity fixes.
Neither Sprint not HTC provides any specific details about the BlinkFeed improvements, though they don't include the option to turn it off; at this point rooting is still the only way.
HTC likely has more time to devote to its flagship phone now that it looks like the HTC First is being discontinued after dismal sales. The company is finally ramping up production of the One, after weeks of delays and supply shortages. However many HTC manufactures, demand is likely to keep pace.
The One occupies a particular, enviable niche that the company has not yet been able to exploit. Many consumers want an Android phone with the physical allure and build quality of an iPhone.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is composed of plastic and polycarbonate, and the glass-enclosed Sony Xperia Z runs a slower processor. Other high-end offerings from BlackBerry and Nokia utilize different operating systems, something many Android loyalists shy away from. The HTC One is milled from solid aluminum, one of several design features that both critics and consumers say gives the body a finished quality, but it still offers the same processor as the Galaxy S4.
The HTC One features a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 4.7-inch 1920x1080 pixel widescreen Super LCD 3 display, a 2300 mAh Li-Po battery, a 4-megapixel "Ultrapixel" camera with enhanced low-light sensitivity with 1080p HD video, up to 64GB of internal storage and runs Android 4.1.2.
