The keynote address at Google I/O 2013 begins at noon EDT, and there are plenty of possible announcements. Watch it live here.

This year, Google has combined the keynotes, previously split over two days, into a single three-hour mega-address. The tech giant cautioned that it won't be introducing much hardware, but the rumors are still flying.

First, it seems likely that Google will at least announce Android 4.3, the latest iteration of its open-source mobile operating system. While it is certainly in development, Google has been mum about it and any new features thus far. What better time to unveil it?

Rumors also say Google plans to announce a stock Android version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone. Samsung's TouchWiz interface that overlays Google's OS isn't very popular, so a powerful new phone built by Samsung but run by Google would be a fine addition to the stables of both companies. If true, the Galaxy S4 Google Edition will probably be the best version of the S4 available stateside.

For the last week, we've heard Google Maps is getting anew look, and earlier today the signup page went live, accidentally it seems, since Google quickly pulled it. Apparently, we're all in for a "smarter search" box, as Google tweaks its algorithms to figure out what we want to see before we even ask. In addition, previous rumors say the sidebar is disappearing, replaced by pop-up windows like the ones in the mobile app.

Google might also shed more light on its smartwatch, a wrist-mounted device that purportedly offers both Gmail access and updates from Google Maps. Perhaps we'll see how that interacts with the new changes supposedly coming to Maps, as well.

And Google Glass will likely pop up somewhere during the keynote, even if it's just perched on a presenter's face.
