The New York Knicks may play Amar'e Stoudemire in Game 3 against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Knicks, who are looking to take a 2-1 lead in the series, are reportedly planning to give Stoudemire 15 to 20 minutes of playing time according to the Wall Street Journal.

Stoudemire is coming off of another surgery to his right knee, which caused him to miss the final weeks of the regular-season.

"If he's going to suit up, I'm not going to leave him over there. I'm going to throw him in there and see what he's got, and see if what he's got can help us win games," New York Knicks head coach Mike Woodson told the New York Times on Thursday.

Stoudemire averaged 14.2 points and 5.0 rebounds in the season but will his return help the Knicks?

Howard Beck of the NYTimes believes that Stoudemire returning to the Knicks "poses certain risks."

There are also concerns regarding Amar'e condition and how well he can quickly adapt to intense postseason play after missing the last two months with an injury.

"I don't have time to find my rhythm," Stoudemire told New York Times on Thursday. "It has to be ready from the start, and that's what it's going to be."

After splitting the first two games at the Madison Square Garden, the Knicks enter Game 3 with an intention of silencing the Pacers on their home court.

Pacers power forward David West has been the biggest thorn to the Knicks in the series and Woodson believes that Stoudemire could match him well in the interior.

"If he can just give us anything in the short time that he's in there, I think it will be very effective for our team," Woodson added.
