EA Sports intends to improve the already great FIFA series by improving the A.I of teammates and opponents with something called Teammate Intelligence. EA developed Teammate Intelligence so that the game of soccer in FIFA 14 will be more organic in nature, according to a statement by EA in Softonic.

"Players will have better decision-making and teams will play smarter on both the attack and defense to bring the beauty of the game to life."

Teammate Intelligence improves FIFA 14 in several small ways. Examples include A.I teammates checking the backfield line during attacking opportunities to make sure that they are not caught offsides, and attackers will also be able to use checked runs to confuse enemy defenders. The Center Forward will also have a better chance of holding positions to better receive passes while the attack commences.

Defense also gets a boost with the new A.I system. The defenders will recognize unique opportunities to pressure attackers and attempt to steal the ball away. The A.I will be able to give support to players from anywhere on the pitch, instead of just covering those closest to the defender.  This means there will no longer be large lanes of open space in which attackers can charge through uncovered. These small effects change the way the game is played, leading to a experience that feels more like an actual game of soccer rather than a simulation.

FIFA 14 will be released on September 29 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, with more platforms being announced later. The latest in the annualized series, FIFA 14 promises better ball physics, better control of defending the ball from the opposing team, the Pure Shot strike mode, and an improved career mode.
