The 8th week of Nuestra Belleza Latina was filled with emotions and tough challenges.
At the beginning of program the Giselle Blondet handed out envelopes to select contestants. They were asked to read them as if they were at an awards show. Barbara Falcon was given one and announced that she was the first contestant to be at risk of elimination.
The weeks Colgate challenge saw the participants helped by hosts Karla Martinez and Rodney Figeroa. For the challenge they had to pose like the legendary actress Maria Felix. They competed for $10,000 and the winner was Marisela.
One of the week's challenges was to comment on premios TVy Novelas. The contestants had to sit with two hosts and talk about certain categories. Viviana, Zuleyka, and Audris were asked to speak about the Best Lead Actor category.
The next three Essined, Marina, and Barbara Turby were had to comment on Best villain.
After the challenge Gil showed a video that revealed scenes of Lupita Jones in a new soap opera as the villain. Gil and Osmel were impressed by her acting and said that they wanted to marry her. Gil said that she would star in the new work "Rosario."
The finalists were then asked to do scenes from different telenovelas. They had to act alongside Maxi Iglesias and Alejandro Nones. Odaray and Viviana were first and they had to do a scene from "Por Ella Soy Eva." Gil stated that both were really good and congratulated Vivana for playing a man. Jones said that Vivana was also excellent and did not exaggerate her character. She also said that Odaray was very credible. Osmel surprisingly agreed with the two judges.
Marisela and Zuleyka then interpreted a scene from "Amor Bravio." Both received excellent commentary. Jones said that Marisela was excellent and had excelled over the past week. She also said added that she seemed very secure. Osmel said that Zuleyka was very comfortable and said that Marisela was on road to becoming a great actress.
Audris, Marina, and Essined did a scene from "Abismo de Pasion." The judges said that three were getting better and were very natural. Jones said that the competition was very tough and it would only get harder. Osmel added that Audris was natural while he said Essined was terrible; he also stated that Marina was horrible.
Before they showed the last scene the three judges danced Flamenco with the contestants. By the end of the choreography Osmel got sick and had to go backstage to cool off. He would not return for the remainder of the program.
Barbara Turby and Barbara Falcon later did a scene from "Corona de Lagrimas." Gil said it was worst of the four scenes. He said that Turby was overacting while Jones stated that she was annoying. She added that Falcon was also terrible.
After the break Gil and Jones announced that Essined and Turby were nominated and at risk of being eliminated. The participants then voted but could not decide on whom to save. However Turby was saved due to the audience vote.
Essined and Falcon became the two contestants at risk of elimination. Since Osmel could not return to the program Jones announced that Falcon was saved and Essined was eliminated.
The next episode of Nuestra Belleza Latina will be aired on Sunday at 8 pm on Univision.
