On April 28th the prestigious Premios TVy Novelas will hand out their accolades.

The awards recognize the best in Mexican TV and soap operas. This year six telenovelas were nominated for Best Soap opera including "Por Ella Soy Eva," "Corona de Lagrimas, "Un Refugio Para El Amor," "Cachito de Cielo," "Abismo de Pasion" and "Amor Bravio."

The nominees for Best Lead Actress are Zuria Vega (Un Refugio Para El Amor), Lucero (Por Ella Soy Eva), Silvia Navarro (Amor Bravio), Victoria Ruffo (Corona de Lagrimas), and Maite Perroni (Cachito de Cielo).

The Best Male lead saw a record number of nominees. Nine actors were shortlisted and three were from "Corona De Lagrimas." The nominees were Brandon Peniche (Un Refugio Para El Amor), Gabriel Soto (Un Refugio Para El Amor), Jaime Camil (Por Soy Eva), David Zepeda (Abismo de Pasion), Mark Thacher (Abismo de Pasion), Pedro Fernandez (Cachito de Cielo), Alejandro Nones (Corona de Lagrimas), Mane de la Parra (Corona de Lagrimas), and Jose Maria Torre (Corona de Lagrimas).

One of the most interesting categories this year is the best theme song as it will see five superstars compete for the prize. The nominees are Pedro Fernandez (Cachito de cielo), Vicente Fernández (Cuando manda el corazón), "Abismo de pasión" (Solo un suspiro para), Cristian Castro (Corona de lágrimas) and Jaime Camil (Por ella soy Eva).

Other nominees include Ernesto Laguardia, Alejandro Camacho, Francisco Gattorno, Leticia Calderon, Sabine Moussier, Laura Flores, and Mariana Soane.

Fifteen categories will be handed out with only these six series competing.

Previous TVy Novela winners are "La Fuerza del Destino," "Para Volver a Amar," "Hasta que El Dinero Nos Separe" and "Fuego en la Sangre."
