After getting arrested in his Woodland Hills home on Tuesday, comedian Katt Williams received his sentence yesterday for misdemeanor charge for evading the police. The Sacramento Supreme Court judge sentenced him with 180 days of jail time. Lucky for him, half of the sentence was stayed while the remaining half was converted into 240 hours of community service.

Williams has until February 7 of next year to complete the community service. Aside from the community service, the comedian received three years of informal probation and is ordered to show court proof of enrollment into a program on June 14.

The sentence stemmed from an incident last November 25 wherein Williams ignited a low-speed police chase with the California Highway Patrol officers in his three-wheel motorcycle. He was charged with felony police evasion and reckless driving.

In January, he was arrested for skipping a trial date on the case. He paid a $100,000 bail and was immediately released. The comedian said that he was not able to attend the trial because he had another court hearing in Los Angeles during the same day, pertaining to a trial concerning his kids' custody.

Williams' lawyer, Richard Schonfeld says, "We are pleased that he will not be incarcerated and Mr. Williams looks forward to working with the community." He also furthered that the comedian was planning to work with youth-oriented organizations in Los Angeles County.

"The stuff was just coming so fast and so furious, I got arrested five times in eight days. That's not something a law-abiding citizen generally has to deal with. So a lot of times I didn't handle it the best way," Katt Williams tells the media regarding the case. Earlier this year, he also told reporters that he was starting to get scared whenever he sees the police.

The current misdemeanor charge was not the first time Williams faced the court. Last year November, he was also arrested in Oakland after a man claimed William of hitting him with a bottle over the head. In December 3, he was again arrested for starting a bar fight in a Seattle bar. Twenty-five days later, he was arrested in Los Angeles for suspicions of child endangerment.

Real name Micah Sierra Williams, the comedian is onscreen playing as a priest in the fifth installation of the comedy film Scary Movie. The day of his arrest in Seattle, he announced ending his stand-up comedy career. Three days after, however, Williams said that he was coming back from retirement.
