T-Mobile had been scheduled to offer the Samsung Galaxy S4 in its online store today, but that release date has been pushed back to Apr. 29, just two days ahead of the Galaxy S4's debut in T-Mobile retail stores.

Late last night, T-Mobile sent out a quiet statement explaining the delay.

"We know customers are really looking forward to getting their new Samsung Galaxy S 4 soon. However, due to an unexpected delay with inventory deliveries, the Galaxy S 4 will not be available on www.T-Mobile.com as planned on Wednesday, April 24. Instead, online availability is expected to begin on Monday, April 29. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working with Samsung to deliver the device to T-Mobile customers as soon as possible," it said.

This drops T-Mobile out of first place and into third in the race to be the first American carrier to offer the Galaxy S4, Samsung's new flagship smartphone.

AT&T pre-orders began shipping yesterday, and Sprint versions will be available in retail stores Apr. 27.

But T-Mobile isn't the only company to be affected by shipping issues lately. HTC recently announced shipments of its already delayed HTC One would take up to another week for delivery, likely due to shipping snags caused by the total shutdown of Boston after the bombings last week and heavy flooding in the Midwest.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 1.6GHz eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor (depending on country), 2GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1920x1080 Full HD AMOLED display at 441 ppi, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, internal storage between 16 and 64GB, an SD card slot that can accommodate an additional 64GB, a polycarbonate body, Smart Pause and floating touch tech and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
