Will he or won't he? That is the question that has surrounded Cristiano Ronaldo's future with Real Madrid for the last few months.

Last fall the superstar said he was upset with his club; the comment prompted speculation that he might need a change of scenery. Rumored destinations included Paris Saint-Germain and Ronaldo's beloved Manchester United. Ronaldo later stated that he would finish out his contract but then refused to answer whether he was happy with the club in an interview a few months ago.

Many argued that Ronaldo's unhappiness had to do with his current contract situation. As it stands he is signed with the club until 2015 and many believe that he wants a pay raise sooner than the expiration date. Madrid has reportedly extended a number of offers to Ronaldo, but his failure to sign has created rumors that he is not getting the increased paycheck that he desires.

Madrid President Florentino Perez has taken it upon himself to ease the tension and has stated that Ronaldo will remain with Los Blancos. "Keep calm, we are going to renew with Cristiano Ronaldo. The club is going to pay him," he told the team's fans at a meeting.

He added, "We've inherited a massive legacy and it is our duty to maintain and improve it. We've only made it this far by sticking together. You mustn't forget that. We can argue amongst ourselves, but unity is the way forward."

Ronaldo leads Madrid with 31 goals in the Spanish league. He leads the entire Champions league with 11 tallies.
