We've been to prom, and now it's time to graduate. It's the natural next step. Prom night in Mystic Falls ended as terrible as any high school dance could, packed with drama, near death and plenty of blood, and we shouldn't expect anything less from graduation. In typical "Vampire Diaries" fashion, any pivotal moment in these young high school students' lives will be shrouded in disastrous mayhem. We can't wait.

The students of Mystic Falls will be graduated during the season four finale, and to give fans a little taste of what to expect, Nina Dobrev posted a behind-the-scenes photo of the ceremonies on her WhoSay account.

"On set, filming the TVD season 4 finale episode - graduation, to be specific - the end of a chapter..bittersweet," Dobrev tweeted along with the photo.

There are only five episodes remaining in season 4, and, as always, Mystic Falls is on the brink of destruction. Next week's episode, "The Originals," features Klaus (Joseph Morgan) on his way to New Orleans to reunite with his protégé Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who has gained control of the city's entire population of supernatural residents. Meanwhile, Elijah (Daniel Gillies) follows his brother to Big Easy, only to discover that Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is already there.

The series then returns to Mystic Falls in the May 2 episode, "She's Undone." Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) summon a "surprising source" in attempt to tame a rampant Elena (Dobrev). Bonnie (Kat Graham) meanwhile makes a deal with Katherine to help take down the malicious Silas.

The remaining episodes will bring ghosts and, of course, graduation to Mystic Falls. "The Vampire Diaries" airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. on The CW.
