Verizon has confirmed on Twitter that it will not have the Samsung Galaxy S4 in stock until May.

"Samsung #Galaxy S4 for #Verizon Wireless #4GLTE coming in May. More details soon @SamsungMobileUS pic.twitter.com/vIGylcY0HA," Verizon tweeted on Thursday.

This means Verizon will be the last American carrier to offer Samsung's new flagship phone. T-Mobile will be the first, unveiling the Galaxy S4 Apr. 24, with Sprint and AT&T following within days.

This is basically the same lineup as last year, when the Galaxy S3 hit the market. T-Mobile and Sprint were the first to have the new phone, while AT&T got it a week later, and Verizon a week after that.

Big Red seems not to care about getting phones in first, perhaps because it feels like it would need to give up too much to manufacturers. It makes up for delays in volume, anyway.

Verizon didn't say exactly when in May it would have the Galaxy S4, but previously, leaked Staples documents said it would be May 30. The other release dates in that leaked doc so far seem to be spot on, so it's possible Verizon may be waiting over a month to bring th3 Galaxy S4 to market. Of course, Verizon could just be biding its time, refusing to advertise that everyone else will get the phone before they will, then launching an ad campaign in early May.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 1.6GHz eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor (depending on country), 2GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1920x1080 Full HD AMOLED display at 441 ppi, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, internal storage between 16 and 64GB, an SD card slot that can accommodate an additional 64GB, a polycarbonate body, Smart Pause and floating touch tech and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
