Things could not get any worse for Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) as season five of "Sons of Anarchy" completely rocked his world. Let's see - he went to prison with fellow club members where he watched best friend Opie (Ryan Hurst) die in front of him, his children were nearly killed in a car accident caused by his mother Gemma (Katey Sagal) and after spending a short time together as man and wife - his love Tara heads to jail for conspiracy to commit murder (thanks Gemma). He was able to successfully frame former club leader and rival Clay (Ron Perlman) for the death of Damon Pope (Harold Perrineau) which should in theory lead to his death, but with this show - anything can happen. Speaking of anything, it appears his attempt to rid his first son Abel of his mother didn't work as guest star Drea de Matteo is set to return for the new season.

With no wife and a mother he can't trust (he doesn't know she was the one that put Tara in prison), Jax may find himself to be a single father in season six. With his recovering addict ex-wife popping back into the picture, one has to question if their encounter will be pleasant. You may remember last season Wendy (de Matteo) making attempt to re-enter son Abel's life. Pleading with Tara and drug-free, Wendy began visits to see Abel without revealing her identity. Things kinda went well until someone kidnapped her to get money from the club. Furious about the type of environment her son is surrounded by, Wendy threatens to report Jax and Abel's kidnapping from prior seasons to the authorities. In efforts to keep his family intact, Jax injects Wendy with heroin in efforts to void her credibility.

Will she seek revenge, or get her child out of harm's way? With Tara out of the picture, will she and Jax rekindle their relationship? Series creator Kurt Sutter (also plays Otto) may have a different direction or Wendy. "The most f-ed-up person at the beginning of the show is now, in a weird way, the healthiest parent," says Sutter.

Season six of "Sons of Anarchy" will premiere in the fall.
