The countdown until the return of "Breaking Bad" is tormenting anxious fans tick by tick. The remaining second half of season five will answer all questions surrounding Walt (Bryan Cranston), his crystal meth empire and his family. AMC has kept its lips sealed, providing fans with nothing to chew on. We've been left waiting helplessly in the dark, torturing ourselves with unprecedented predictions and endless possibilities, until now.
The majority of the series finale remains secret, however, new details give fans an idea of what they should prepare themselves for. We know that Walt's DEA brother-in law Hank (Dean Norris) is hot on his tails. It would make sense to see the two play a rousing game of cat and mouse during an epic finale showdown, but that's not necessarily the case. As Carter Matt reports, it's Hanks wife, Marie Schrader (Betsy Brandt), who will be caught in a standoff with the drug kingpin.
Brandt revealed that during the final 10 minutes of the final episode, Marie and Walt would duke it out during an ultimate standoff, oddly resulting in a passionate lip lock.
"She proclaimed that there was a "standoff" between her character Marie and Walter White, and that the two end up kissing while Matt Myra spontaneously shows up. As you can see in the video below, Brandt was also kind enough at one point to kiss Myra just as she did in a recent bowling tournament to psych him out."
This surprising piece of information is only cause for confusion and further excitement. How could such an occurrence come about? How could Walt cheat on his wife with her own sister? And how could Marie do the same? It's just too much to bear. Why must "Breaking Bad" torment us so?
The final eight episodes will also feature a broken Skyler (Anna Gunn) as she hits rock bottom as Hank catches on to Walt's treachery, with which she's directly involved. Not only does she fear for herself, but entire family.
Season five of "Breaking Bad" is set to make its return to AMC on Sunday, August 11, with the episode "The Decision." Check out the interview with Brandt below.
