Sprint HTC One Price: $99 for Customers Who Switch Carriers to Sprint

Disloyalty is its own reward. Sprint is offering the new HTC One at a steep discount to new customers who switch over to the carrier.

The One regularly retails for $199.99, but customers who abandon their old carrier and sign up with Sprint can get it for $99.

Is it worth the $100 discount to sign up with a totally new carrier? That depends. You only get the discount if you port over a mobile number from another carrier, so the deal doesn't work for new lines, or if this is your first cellphone contract.

Of course, if you're in the middle of a contract, it's not worth it to break it and pay the termination fee. But if you're about to renew a two-year contract with Verizon or AT&T to get a deal on an HTC One, take a look at Sprint.

There are few substantial differences between the coverage areas and service options of the three big carriers. T-Mobile has revamped its calling plans, so you can get an HTC One for $99 without any special deal, but they're smaller player in the market.

One last consideration for people who absolutely want the HTC One right now: Sprint says people who pre-order (which you have to do anyway in order to get this discount) may be able to get the One before the official Apr. 19 release date. They're not promising anything, but it could be worth a day or two of bragging rights.
