Warner Bros has released six new character posters for their new film "The Great Gatsby."

The posters to Baz Luhrmann's new film show an Art Deco-style that evokes the glitz of the flapper era and the pizzazz of the film's style. It is also reminiscent of Luhrmann's last movies "Australia," "Romeo + Juliet," and "Moulin Rouge." Each poster shows a close-up of a character along with a backdrop. For example, Gatsby's backdrop is a green light while Myrtle's is a yellow car.

"The Great Gatsby tells the story of a Midwestern war veteran who finds himself drawn to the past and lifestyle of his millionaire neighbor. The script was written by Luhrmann and Graig Pearce from the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel of the same title. The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby, Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan, Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway, Isla Fisher as Myrtle Wilson, Joel Edgerton as Tom Buchanan, and Elizabeth Debicki as Jordan Baker.

Warner Bros. is set to unveil the film at the Cannes Film Festival where it will be the opening night selection. It will also mark the first time a Cannes opening night film is in theaters before premiering at the festival.

Luhrmann's film was originally set to open on December 25th 2012 but was delayed so it did not have to compete with "Django Unchained" which also starred Dicaprio. "The Great Gatsby' will now open nationwide on May 10th.
