After MGM announced that they were going to release the next James Bond film in three years, producer Barbara Broccoli revealed that she was going to get director Sam Mendes back no matter what.

During the Empire Awards the producer revealed that she was talking to Mendes to return whether it was for the next movie or for a future installment. She stated "We will get him back; we haven't given up hope... Maybe not for the next one... but we will get him back again."

Producer Michael Gilson also added "We hope that maybe he will have gotten inspired to come back."

Mendes also had the chance to speak about it during the awards ceremony and stated "Bond movies: they need someone working on it now...I'm doing my theater projects and then I'll work out... I've definitely left the door open though... I've never really repeated myself, done the same type of movie one after the other, so just give me a chance to think about what I actually want to say."

The last James Bond movie was recently honored by U.K Empire Awards as the Best Film of Year and also awarded Mendes the Best director accolade.

"Skyfall" also became the most successful Bond movie ever made and received 5 Academy Award nominations and won 2 including Adele Adkin's Song "Skyfall." The film was also the recipient of 2 BAFTA awards including Best British Film.
