Assassin's Creed 3 gets a new DLC pack today, entitled "The Betrayal" on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This is the second episode from trilogy of DLC called "The Tyranny of King Washington." The DLC is available for $9.99, or 800 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360. The DLC is free to season pass owners.

This DLC sees Connor returning to urban Boston after spending much of the first episode of the series in the country. This DLC is set in an alternate history where George Washington has declared himself king of the former British Colonies.

Connor also gains the ability to fly temporarily after communing with the spirit of a eagle. Now, instead of climbing up to the rooftops of the city, Connor can levitate himself to the top of a building with a simple push of the button. This also gives Connor the ability to swoop in on enemies as an eagle, then transform back into a human and deliver fatal blows to enemies.

Several familiar faces show up during this episode, such as Ben Franklin, but this being an alternate history tale, some characters definitely don't act historically accurate. Due to the episodic nature of the DLC releases, this episode feels incomplete without part three, so players are left hanging until the final episode before the story resolves.

With such a steep price tag for a few hours of extra gameplay, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC gamers may want to wait until part three comes out before making a decision about The Tyranny of King Washington as a whole.
