Ashton Kutcher's Steve Jobs Biopic Postponed [VIDEO]

The Steve Jobs biopic entitled "jOBS" starring Ashton Kutcher has been postponed.

The film about the Apple co-founder was supposed to be released on April 19 in time for Apple's 37^th anniversary. However the distributor Open Road postponed it.

According to Five Star Films and Open Road there wasn't enough time to "create buzz" for the film with an April date. As a result a joint decision was agreed to quietly postpone the release until further notice.

"jOBS" made its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and received mixed reception with Variety stating "Avoids outright hagiography, but more or less embodies the sort of bland, go-with-the-flow creative thinking Jobs himself would have scorned."

The Guardian was also negative about the film stating "This is far from the bomb some would have envisaged, but neither is it the character illumination one would wish for."

The Hollywood Reporter was one of the few critics to enjoy the film stating "A biopic that's perhaps too respectful of the tech icon's innovations still remains frequently engaging."

The movie has also come under fire by Apple Co-founder Steve Wozniak who stated on Good Morning America, "What I saw was just so far from anything that really happened or said in those days".

Currently another Jobs film is in development by Academy Award winning writer Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, Moneyball) who is basing his adaptation on Walter Isaacson's bestselling biography.

"jOBS" is directed by Joshua Michael Stern and written by Matthew Whiteley.
