Even though the next James Bond movie is currently without a director, writer John Logan is hard at work on the script.

Logan recently revealed a few details about what he has planned for the film and the path the series will take for the 24th and 25th films. He stated "[Ian] Fleming's courage in showing Bond's fear and vulnerability and depression was really interesting and something that a modern audience can accept." Logan added "I think Skyfall demonstrated that they want more layers to that character. And those are the layers that Fleming wrote."

Logan has been nominated for 3 Academy Awards for his work on "Gladiator," "The Aviator," and "Hugo." He has also penned "Rango," "Coriolanus," "Sweeny Todd" and the upcoming films "Noah," and "Genius."

Sam Mendes recently exited the James Bond franchise after directing "Skyfall." He stated that "directing 'Skyfall' was one of the best experiences of my professional life, but I have theatre and other commitments, including productions of 'Charlie And The Chocolate Factory' and 'King Lear,' that need my complete focus over the next year and beyond."

Rumored director Guy Ritchie has emerged as the favorite after British bookmaker William Hill did a study. Danny Boyle also made headlines when he stated that he is not interested in directing a James Bond film because it is too big and does not suit his character or the type of film he likes to make. Kathryn Bigelow, Martin Campbell and Christopher Nolan are some of the other names that have also been rumored.

The last James Bond film "Skyfall" received 5 Academy Award nominations and won 2 for Adele Adkin's Song "Skyfall" as well as Sound Editing. "Skyfall" was also the recipient of 2 BAFTA awards including Best British Film. It also became the most successful financially making over $1 billion worldwide and scored rave reviews with a 92 percent aggregate score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Daniel Craig is slated to reprise the role of Bond with Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw in the 24th film. The movie is set to launch in 2014.
