An online poll initiated by the Latinos post on June 16 aimed at measuring people's smartphone preference found that 69 percent of the voters considered Apple iPhones more appealing than Samsung smartphones.
Out of more than 2,500 votes, 1,744 votes (69%) favored Apple's overall smartphone appeal against 701 votes (27.8%) that favored Samsung smartphones including devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S3, S2, among others. 3.21 percent of the votes favored other brands such as HTC, Motorola and Blackberry.
The number of voters in favor of Apple iPhones rose by a significant 10 percent since a last report published on June 18 found that 58.8 percent out of 1,007 voters voted in favor of Apple against 38.8 percent of the votes going to Samsung
The poll was initiated on June 16 prompted by the breaking news that Apple would have to pursue a new filing if it wanted to pursue its bid to place a ban on the Samsung Galaxy S3 in the U.S.
Aiming to capture just how the ongoing Apple lawsuits would influence the Cupertino-based company's overall brand image, the unscientific poll reflects that Apple still maintains a good impression among the majority of the 2,500 voters.
Most People's Impression of Apple Unaffected or Positively Affected by Apple Lawsuits
In a second online poll launched by the Latinos Post aimed at capturing people's opinion regarding Apple's corporate policy, the results displayed that 65.7 percent of the voters (287 votes) had their impression of Apple either unaffected or positively affected after learning about Apple's decision to resort to legal efforts to ban the sale of other gadgets.
On the other hand, 33.8 percent of the voters (148 votes) responded that Apple's corporate policy had negatively their impression of the brand.
While 1,000 votes is anything but extraordinary, the poll's results could perhaps reflect how Apple's ongoing legal efforts to ban Samsung products is impacting its overall brand image.
Most Against a Samsung Galaxy S3 Ban in the U.S.
According to a third online poll, 92.6 percent of 1,840 voters were against a Samsung Galaxy S3 ban in the U.S.
From a total of 1,840 votes, 1,704 votes (92.61%) stood against such ban while only 126 votes (6.85%) favored the ban.
All polls continue to run (below), and although it may not accurately represent American consumers, the poll does not permit duplicate votes under the same IP address and according to web analytics more than 50 percent of the voters come from U.S. IP addresses.
Samsung is already the greatest smartphone vendor in the world, an achievement earned during the last quarter of 2011.
The launch of the Galaxy S3 in the U.S. could also help propel Samsung surpass Apple in another front, the 'overall smartphone appeal' front, which according to the above mentioned poll hails Apple as the winner.
However expect Apple to keep its fighting position in this brewing smartphone battle. Many rumors are circling the internet with regards to Apple's next generation iPhone or iPhone 5 that could represent the company's largest smartphone design overhaul since the iPhone 4.
The iPhone 5 (once it is launched) should be competing against the Galaxy S3, which makes its debut in U.S. markets on June 21st although various carriers have announced some delays in the delivery due to high demand.
With the iPhone 5 release (date rumored to be in September), an analyst has stated that Apple could become the most profitable company ever.
